Lestevenie Gold 2018

This noble late harvest is created from carefully hand-picked Semillon grapes and left to mature in oak barrels for up to 12 months. Lestevenie Gold is produced similar to the highly defined Saussignac appellation standards of the Bergerac region and is naturally sweet with no added sugar. The rich flavours of honey, apricots and almonds and pairs exceptionally well with strong cheese. It is a highly versatile wine to be enjoyed during any course of your meal.

Characteristics Of The Vintage

In 2018 there was a lot more rain than the yearly average and the weather conditions in spring and early summer were very favourable to the development of diseases such as downy mildew. A combined successions of stormy showers in the first ten days of July, kept the soil waterlogged and impossible to access the plots for treatments. Hand harvesting of the grapes were done during the first week of October.
