Characteristics Of The Vintage

The winter was marked by an alternation of mildness and cold weather. It remains, on average, milder and wetter than normal. Even after a marked cooling in mid-March, very little frost were observed in the vines. The cumulative rainfall is considerably lower than yearly averages. Heavy rainfall in June favoured very active growth in the vineyards at the same time as flowering and fruit set, causing a marked competition for sugars between the growing ends. Not much mildew and black rot was caused by the wet and damp weather.
